Olga Lomová is a Professor of Sinology and Head of the Institute of East Asian Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy at the Charles University, Prague. Her research interests include medieval Chinese poetry, literary history and aesthetics, as well as more contemporary topics such as the intellectual transformation of China under the Western influence in the 20th century and the connection between ideology and culture in the PRC.
She is author and co-author of many works, published in both Czech and English, including a monograph on the image of nature in Wang Wei’s poetry, work on mourning the dead in the Chinese Middle Ages, multiple guides to Chinese literature and translations of Chinese works.
