Lukáš Zádrapa is head of the Department of Sinology at Charles University in Prague. He is a specialist in historical linguistics of Chinese, theories and histories of Chinese writing, and ancient Chinese literature and philosophy. His published works include Word-Class Flexibility in Classical Chinese: Verbal and Adverbial Uses of Nouns (Brill, 2011), developed from his PhD thesis, as well as translations of Xunzi and Hanfeizi. Those interested in learning more about Ancient Chinese (1200 BCE–Late Han) grammar and syntax, word classes, early inscriptions and excavated texts, will find useful Dr Zádrapa’s comprehensive entry in the Oxford Bibliographies in Chinese Studies, “The Ancient Chinese Language.”
